Wildlife Safari, Zoos, Tivoli and Aqua Parks, offer the perfect family holiday activities
The Costa del Sol is often considered to be somewhat of a playground for adults but there are lots of activities that suit families and especially kids. Apart from the usual beach activities there are many different wildlife and theme parks here.
Wildlife
Parks Selwo Adventure Park in Estepona is one of the world’s most unique safari parks. Here you can enjoy the 2000 animals from the five continents in almost natural habitats by foot or by terrain vehicle, a fantastic experience for the whole family.
At Selwo Marina in Arroyo de la Miel you can enjoy sea life and birds, for instance dolphins, sea lions, penguins and other exotic birds.
Sea Life Aquarium in Benalmádena is an interactive underwater park where you can take a walk along the bottom of the sea and look at 5000 different fishes and other creatures from the whole world.
Crocodile Park in Torremolinos, is Europe’s only crocodile park with 300 crocs, from babies up to 500 kg giants. There is even a crocodile nursery.
Fuengirola Zoo is a visitor and animal friendly zoo where you can enjoy animals in a more natural environment than most zoos can offer. In the summer the zoo is open until 1.00 am so you can go on a moonlight visit in the jungle and experience nature by night.
Theme parks
Tivoli World, the Costa del Sol’s largest amusement park, is in Arroyo de la Miel (Benalmádena). Here you can choose from over 300 rides and attractions but also enjoy tropical gardens, theatres and flamenco shows. Why not take Telecabina, the cable car, up to the highest point 800 metres above sea level. Here you can see all the way from Sierra Nevada to Gibraltar and North Africa on a clear day.
The Isla Magica amusement park in Sevilla is an exciting and modern park divided into theme areas representing different episodes in Spanish 16th century history. The park includes over 40 rides and attractions, roller coasters and shows, a must see for any kid.
Parque Acuático Mijas in Fuengirola is one of the best aqua parks on the Costa del Sol. Here you find kamikaze slides, an adventure river, a wave pool and a kiddie-play area. The program also includes water aerobics, music and dance shows.
